Format: Allgear

Folktronica is a loosely-defined genre that combines folk and electronic music. Focus a lot on instrumentation. Consider using acoustic, folky instruments such as guitar, accordion, piano, fiddle, etc. and combining them with electronic sounds from synthesizers (and maybe even chiptune). This genre is open to a lot of different interpretations and styles so don't stress too much about it having to sound a certain way!

My personal favorites in this genre (and mainly the only folktronica artists I love) are Wintergatan and Detektivbyran. I highly recommend you check out their albums.
