lemme copy this from the lyceum rq:

While Jummbox is arguably the most powerful mod, every -Box program is able to be submitted. This includes:

Original Beepbox - https://www.beepbox.co
Modded BeepBox - https://moddedbeepbox.github.io/3.0
GoldBox - https://aurysystem.github.io/goldbox
Sandbox - https://parad0xstuff.github.io/sandbox-3.0/
TodBox - http://todbox.github.io
Pandora's Box - https://paandorasbox.github.io/
Pandora's Box (experimental sampler version) https://pandoras-box.thurm64.repl.co/
UltraBox - https://ultraabox.github.io/

so ultrabox users
you can go wild today

remember to embed your samples in your song file so they aren't lost when any of the countless beepbox mods' servers shut down

EDIT: confirmed not legal for the battle!

There appears to be an offline version of ultrabox that supports local samples. This would require submitting a zip containing a samples folder paired with the song. However, the jummbox rules would need to be changed to make this valid.

SRB2, to add samples to Ultrabox, go to File Garden and upload the audio file. After it's uploaded, click the sample, and on the right side of the screen, next to "URL," is a paperclip, and this copies the link URL. Lastly, go to Ultrabox, click "Edit," scroll down to "Add Custom Samples," click "Add Sample," and paste the link into the box. If you can't find the sample in the instrument rack, click on the instrument name, click "Custom Sample Presets," and find your sample.

EDIT: confirmed not legal for the battle!

For local samples, add your samples to a "samples" folder in the UltraBox Offline folder. And use the path "file:samples/mysample.wav" when adding a sample the way Kalowe described.

Regarding samples and submission filetype - thanks for bringing this up. Admins discussed this and for this battle, the file type requirements will remain unchanged - so for those working with samples, keep in mind you won’t be able to submit a .zip for offline play, you would need to use internet hosted URLs.

for offline samples I would recommend doing this:

1. work on your song as normal, upload samples wherever
2. when you’re done export your song as json
3. at the end of the json you should see your custom samples. download them and use a converter to create a Data URI for each, replacing each of the normal URLs. these might get really huge so you may want to use a more lightweight text editor!
4. import the song again to make sure shit actually works
5. battle of the bits

the only part of ultrabox that is illegal is offline samples
everything else is fair game, even samples (so long as they are hosted on a url)
