If anyone's interested in working together for this one, I play keys and bass proficiently, I'm okay at accordion, and have a slew of other instruments around (C maj kalimba, otamatone, a guitar or two, many synths, etc.). Anyways, I've got plenty o' mics and instruments, and love to play me some live music, so hmu ೬ʚ(●ᴗ●)ɞ೨!!

I've got a Yamaha DTX I can liveplay on, I've been experimenting with recording from time to time - it's hard when the instrument isn't portable 😅. But 24 days is plenty of time to fix the setup.

CALLING ALL INSTRUMENTALISTS - BotBrs On Parade

for Battle of the Bands i'm putting together a many-BotBr collab project in the style of a jam session, where the participants take turns doing a solo on their chosen instrument. all you need to do is pick one of the two backing tracks (just drums & a bass part), solo over any part of it you want*, and submit a recording of your solo here, or send it to me on discord. every solo will be in the final entry - the backing tracks will be extended as much as they need to be to fit everyone's submissions.

you can also submit non-solo comping parts for the backing track but i don't promise to use all of those. i also reserve the right to chop & mix everything submitted to make everyone's recordings play nice together.

what a battle! across 5 entries i've collaborated with 11 different BotBrs, and did everything from composing to part-writing to mixing... not to mention all the playing! what a blast. thanks to everyone who joined this event, you all made it special to me.

my secret objective in this battle was learning to DAW and i can in fact confirm that my ableton knowledge has gone from near-zero to, uh, four or five at least. out of what, who can say? but it feels like progress.
