i wouldn't be surprised to see a js interpreter implemented in modular synths before the end of this battle

and then someone run bytebeat.js on it

Does it have to be a self-playing rack or can I record a manual session?

Self-playing I would say.

Man, this is going to be my fav major ever! VCV Rack is insanely awesome, I just have to get it running again.

Thanks for this cool compo, Puke!

Sorry folks; didn't realize it was 64bit only until after I launched the battle. I updated the format's lyceum article to include (what I remember of) how to install the extra modules. The ones that are free and precompiled should be enough for everyone. Yes, your patch should stand alone and play by itself! And if anyone finds some handy tutorial videos online please add links to them in that lyceum article as well.

I'm not sure the best way to create a clock divider (or I missed the module if it exists), but if you want to make 'parts' with your patch you'll need to figure this out. Basically, a clock divider divides the current tempo. I've managed to do this using multiple sequencers -- if you use the output at the bottom of the first column and patch it into the clock of another sequencer it will divide the tempo by 8 on that second sequencer. If you patch every other column on the first sequencer into the clock of the second sequencer then the tempo divides by 2. You can do this as many times as necessary to get to the division you want and then can use the ultra slowly clocked sequencer to control VCAs that gate voltage control signals.
...or something like that...

This one's out of my jurisdiction citing a version (not platform, just version) incompatibility. Source requests libc++, and potentially components that only exist on 10.7 or later (the webpage itself specifies 10.7 as a minimum requirement).

See you next compo! ^_^

I've noticed certain modules can be very CPU intensive. It might be worth the effort to monitor the CPU usage in your OS as you add modules to see which ones take the most -- I'm not too sure yet myself.

So, so, ok, wait, ok, so, wait, ok, sooooo....O queso?
Lemme get some clarity on a few things if possible.

-It has to be a self-running patch so that you upload it, someone donloads and runs it in VCV, mashes "go" on the sequencer, and it just plays "music". Right?
-Actually I think that is my only question.
-Yes I'm pretty sure you already answered my other ones.
-Thank you.
-Moot Booxlé.

yes, moot, the "music" should just "work" for anyone who opens it. in fact if you save with the sequencer running it will start at the beginning next time you turn it on :o

@petet, use a program like Audacity and record stereo mix, I guess. Just make sure enhancements and stuff are disabled, otherwise it might not sound as good as you hear it.

@petet:
(or anyone who doesn't have stereo mix available on their machine)
On Windows Vista and later, you can have Audacity use Windows WASAPI and for your recording device, select your headphones or speakers or whatever. It'll record whatever comes out of 'em, and should be available on all machines.
