I was a bit blind to how late of a time I was going for... I had to depart for bed in real life sooner than I expected. Hence the second-to-last-place song (it was passable as a quick entry... a ten minute entry, to say the least). The NSF compo would have pushed it to midnight, but I actually have a much better understanding of DPCM limitations (mostly that I can't go over a length of 32768-128=32640 for each sample: other than that, I'm using DPCM samples with seemingly no bounds thanks to it2nsf: I only ran into one problem with DPCM samples, and that was overdoing the overall size of a single sample. Other than that, the pitch problem is easily circumnavigational, especially when I have a calculator to quickly whip up a sample size to get an 8363 default pitch for my tracker. :) My sample pack is better than the default generator, but only partially: I don't quite implement some of the instruments that are out of range for pitch envelopes).
