This can be fixed by renaming the file with the proper extension after downloading but this might be a problem in the future so I am alerting the masses!!

I am thinking it may have something to do with this entry: http://battleofthebits.com/arena/Entry/Deer+listeners.../13365/ . Possibly when puke7 updated the filename interpreter code it somehow now interprets periods as underscores (or spaces, but replaces spaces with underscores if there is text afterwards in the filename, eg file extensions) in filenames when submitting. That is my detective work thank you.
