got around to reading, this seems really cool! i'd be down for it, but i think you'd have to figure out what reasonable format submissions sizes would look like.

jangler, there are four channels, so you would just set the volume to zero for a note end, and you can write zeroes to the envelope bytes for no envelope at all, and they mention reading the volume byte to get envelope stat but I don't know if that necessarily means you can modify envelopes in use. if you try to change pitch it will restart playback, also like the nes
