Something some of you might get some use/inspiration out of as an idea. It seems like most guys who are into old home computers end up building some kind of plywood shelving to keep everything organized, but in an apartment that is far too small for two people and their innumerable hobbies (larps) I didn't want to sacrifice that much desk space. So, I managed to cram the chord octopus boiling up out of my STe into a little hutch that I can easily pick up and carry around.

The cheap little HDMI monitor can tuck into the space above the computer. Up under the top cover are swtiches for Atari power, peripheral power, an SCART-HDMI converter and a headphone amp, so you don't need to reach around the back for anything. Eventually I'll make up a bunch of shorter chords to clean it up even further, but today I honestly couldn't be assed, so there are a bunch of rolled-up wires stuffed inside as well. Plenty of room. Some time I might try and make a leather cover so it travels better, but for now this is fine.

Stay tuned for the LSDJ keyboard-and-headphone-amp dock I've been intending to build for about 9 years.

This must have been satisfying, I'd love to make some desk organizers like this for my hardware! Right now it's manageable enough but this makes me want to be more organized and get the stupid jumbles of cords out of my view

It's real nice; if I haven't been doing somethin for a while but I get the itch I can just take it off the shelf and get going. Been trying to do the same thing with my tools for a while but it's oddly tricky.
