I'm almost done with a sms entry for Winter Chip, the song is looping and in this case I often wonder how to render it to mp3. I mean, there is two options:
  • Uploading a single loop, unedited: the safest choice
  • Uploading a loop + the beginning of the next loop with a fade out: as you might see online for video game OSTs

I'm tempted to go along with the 2nd option, however is this ok to do this? The problem being that the fade out isn't present in the original file.

my extremely scientific approach to this is:

render the file as a wav, looping like 5 times

listen to the file, and when I start getting bored of hearing it loop, add a fade out, snip off the remainder of the file, and compress it to mp3 to submit as a render

that's science™

Yeah I've looped and added an audacity fadeout on a couple of shorties
