i realized that a lot of xhb bitpacks which contain only text are more regularly uploaded as image files, to support styles like bold and underline.
so maybe its worth it to consider making bitpacks more ... modern?
they can still exist as .txt files but maybe with the possibility to have a little "show on page" button (or something like that) which renders the file with firki markup on the xhb page? that way it would be more accessable... for everyone - and save some space too :D

i like the idea of "rich-text" bitpacks indeed. i worry a bit about the external image tag hack in this case, potentially rendering a bitpack useless in the future with a dead or broken image link, but i'm unsure if that's a big enough deal not to do it

...come to think of it, can bitpacks be an html file?

The idea of displaying the bitpack on the battle page as firki markup is cool!

I think it would be awesome if we could go deeper with this idea. Currently on the XHB hosting page, you can provide a bitpack either by uploading a file or typing it in a text-box (in this case the content is converted to a .txt bitpack).

I think it would be nice to be able both to upload a file and to type text in the text-box using firki markup. The content of the text-box would be shown on the battle page at the start of the entry period, in the same way as major battles. Then you can provide an additional file of any type like a picture or a sample pack.

It would be convenient for some kind of bitpacks like these ones for instance:
  • Making a music inspired by an image
  • Make a music following a certain set of instructions using only the provided samples
