remember that time i argued that all modules should be uninterpolated

or my brief serial requesting-more-forgiving-amiga-storage-limits obsession

or that time I tried to get ogg to be a render format, only to learn that safari doesn't support it and have my slightly-hi-er-fi dreams shot down by apple

or that time i made a strange post about "human music" that was really... REALLY pretentious and anti-AI

or when I made a post asking why forums banning necroposting is a thing, only to put that same question into google and get an answer that was pretty reasonable--wait a minute...

sometimes I think about these things. i wish i could forget them. but the internet won't, so i cant. they are not the end of the world. being wrong is part of being flesh and blood and a human-thing, after all.

i regret nothing, besides some big instances in the past few years where i was being rly dishonest and caused discomfort or harm to others. i own it now. its ok.

i remember one time at irc i flexed my complete then-misunderstanding of language and taboo by [large list of really fucking stupid shit i did in confusion that hurt a ton of ppl]

a young woman and her kid were walking a dog while i was doing the hedge and i overheard her kid nagging for an ice cream and her saying 'no we can't go and get ece cream. because, i don't know any good ice cream places here yet' so in the spirit of being friendly and welcoming to a young family who were new to the area i called out 'hi, theres a really good ice-cream place in [adjacent suburb]!' and she called back 'aw, thanks so much!' but in hindsight i probably fucked up her day because was more likely looking for an excuse NOT to give ger kid ice cream andi just ruined that for her and also i got yhe suburb wrong, the really good ice cream shop is in [different adjacent suburb]

there's an absolute shit ton that i've done that i've come to regret completely and turn my thinking around on. done a lot of things in a haze, ruined some friendships, associated with people who:

a. turned out to be manipulators
b. turned out to be reprehensible in terms of politics
c. turned out to be assholes
d. a combo of the above

won't list all of it since i can probably fill a book with the bad takes i've had; i'll just say that for every one of those, there's repenting for it on my part. i've been owning up to a lot of shit and learning from my mistakes for a long time now, whether privately or publicly. sometimes bad habits slip out of the cracks, but i've been trying my best not to let them do that.

i was gonna ramble here but i'll just say this thread is awesome instead! it takes quite a bit of effort for people to be upfront and own up to their mistakes in such an open manner; i just wished more people did it more often.

my first upload here was just something i had lying around. i threw it into a battle randomly with no regard to theme whatsoever. i had no idea how the site even worked! thankfully i later read the lyceum and have since learn't my lesson - becoming a little bit less cringe in the process 8 )
