what are your hopes and dreams for this year on BotB?

i'll start: i plan to beat my record of 27 entries in a month this february. one entry a day for 28 days... is that so crazy? i believe it can be done.

will others join me in february fever? well, that's up to you!

My goal for 2023 is to maybe get a medal (if that is possible)
perhaps I will get lucky again and get one just because.

I am hoping to use winter chip as a vehicle to learn furnace since there will probably be many formats that can be targeted and entered that would use furnace
my learning is probably going to go towards lean workflow so there won't be extravagant music work on show but it would pave the way for it in the future maybe

Hope to befriend more people I can goof around with!!!

- medal in more music categories. i want to push my music to the point where i can actually acclaim it - right now my music is fine. not good, not bad, just decent. i want to go beyond that, to the point where people know me more for my music than my art.

- enter a game jam. doesn't matter whether it's here or not, i just wanna be able to use my game design knowledge from high school.

- work on tools to make other botbrs' lives better. something like a new converter, maybe even a tracker! doubt i'll do that this year so uh consider this a longterm goal lol

- 200+ entries next year. i wanna be the most productive i could possibly ever dream to be, and that starts as soon as 2023 starts.

- get ntrq on an actual cart and an nes. ntrq is a very fun tracker to play with and i wanna be better at it! kinda wanna play that space raft cart i got too

I dunno, I just wanna keep making music, and see in what ways I can improve my music making skills. It's still hard for me to come up with anything original, especially when I wanna try to make my compositions more varied

This isn't necessarily about BotB, but I do wanna try to get an original album out someday, once I've figured out the process of making one. I have some ideas floating about on what to make for it

Would be super cool to get 7 badges for hosting purposes, I only have one at present but am close to a few others.

Also, this one's ambiguous but I want to work on just getting better at writing the music (or drawing the picture) that's in my head. Taking the ideas and putting them down in a way that I find satisfying.

Planning on spending more time on conscientiously studying techniques and styles that I've appreciated. Also relearning some piano skills this year.

Edit - oh! Also try out a few collabs. Got a few in the works that might materialize soon :)

These past several months, I've been a lot more inactive because I've been working full time to save up all that I can and move out to Dallas. I've been using whatever free time I can get to study mathematics and computer science from a very basic level, and I want to delve into hobby electronics as a means of augmenting my studies. Earning some signalist points as a result of my efforts would be pretty cool :3

Fixing my laptop so I can actually create my first entry over the weekends on campus between my welding trade and demolition work. I've been so demotivated lately it's not even funny...
But I still get to enjoy BotBr entries nonetheless. (thank you all by the way, I listen to many of your tracks on the daily, both on BotB and off)

- try new formats (well, i actually submitted to all 81 battle formats, so i'm expecting new battle formats coming up this year! ;) - and anyway, it feels terrible being alone there... come on, everyone... :S )

- try to help botbrs getting their 7th badge (so hopefully we will see more interesting xhb battles happening, i humbly confess i'm one of that crowd getting sick of those xhb mp3 allgear and wildchip battles all the time! ;D )

- Have one of said tags appear 5 times (current highest is "cyclops" with 2)
- Try to change my class to Chippist
V Collab with someone atleast once (Thanks Lumby!) (completed in January)
V Get one gold medal (Completed in March)
- Have atleast 20 tin cans

- Try to hit L29 this year
- Moar hoasting (would be neat to get at least one of every format in)
- Stay badgeless?? I could go for more 6/7 badge progresses, or maybe this is the year I claim a badge :thonk:
