Sooo, not sure if this has been brought up before, but there seems like a lot of overlap between the aesthetics and capabilities of Bitsy (https://make.bitsy.org/) and things Botbrs are into. Especially since the mini game engine now supports music!

I think it'd be cool to add a game devist class or something and do OHBs in the Bitsy (or Bitsy-alike i.e. Mosi or Bipsi) format.

it looks bitsy could just be submitted to the html5 format. there was a problem with the html5 format in the past but i dont think that'd apply to bitsy.

That'd be recent "advances" in browser "security" severely gimping what you can do with HTML5 without forcing users to run a local webserver. I experienced this firsthand when I made FINGERQUEST for the fourth BotB game jam, never again :V

When are we gonna disband the WHATWG for they have done literally nothing to improve the web?

So um, since all the JS is contained within the HTML and no external libraries are used, you won't get CORS issues with Bitsy. Even so, for voting we'd just have people download the HTML file and run locally, so no CORS there either. Jus' saying.

i forgot i had seen this thread before... BUMP! i think bitsy would be a great format to include. it reminds me of plaintext, except it has that extra layer of interactivity/art

oh also, while there is a .html, bitsy also has its own .bitsy file format!

itsy bitsy game dev battle! I gotta admit I'm curious to see how much of a thing could be made in an OHB timeslot - I've fiddled with it before, and the editor webapp is a lil buggy, but iirc nothing that doesn't fix itself with a hard-refresh.
