Of course simply using NPC (nonplayer character) would be, quite frankly, too simple. But then I tried to brain storm a replacement. Non-User BotBr is what I came up with. Now, how different are nubs and NUBBs from each other? One is a currency, the other some kind of BotB controlled BotBr you can interact with.

If anyone cares to come up with a better acronym (for serious or for jest), please do! But these NUBB dinglez gonna be selling yer humility head wear so you can unfavorite yer own tracks. :P

We could avoid the term altogether and just refer to them as they are ("merchants," "botbrsmiths," etc.).

Made Up Person Playing As Thief > MUPPAT > Bandit.
Vending Of Game Objects Non-Player > VOGON > Merchant.
Government Entity Mandates Protocol > GEMP > Politician
Silly MacGuffin Entity Used For Entertainment > SMEUFE > Random NPCs.

I'm not looking for types of NPC's. I'm looking for something to replace NPC with; a blanket term that bandits, merchants, and wizards all fall under. The term will be used in BotB's code and database.

NUEB sounded like the best option.

How about we call them JKNF7BU83437H32GF2493-1. We can call everyone else JKNF7BU83437H32GF2493-2.
