So Ive found a vst called C700 which opens spc files and emulates snes sound.

Anyone here that knows how to use it? I havent found a decent tutorial for it yet.

There seems to be one tutorial for it though, but its all text, i would prefer some youtube tutorial.

Thanks

other than the built in reverb of the SPC i don't know why you need a vst. SNES is all sample based; you can just use ripped samples

puke7 do you know where to find snes samples? Thanks ViLXDRYAD I got everything worked out except the echo/reverb part but that's because I scrolled too fast and missed it.

for successfully emulating the snes echo as that tutorial teaches; you may need to use a program called SPCPlay, which you can grab here:

http://dgrfactory.jp/bin/8ce15d0d/spcplay2177b5616.zip
Source in Japanese

and for extracting the samples you can use SNESOR95 which allows you to extract them in .wav format directly from snes roms, you can download it from here:

http://www.zophar.net/utilities/rippers/snessor95.html

and if what you want are the samples in the .brr format you can use this command line-based application for extracting them from .spc snes's music files, you can download it from its github site:

https://github.com/gocha/split700

you should be good to achieve what you want with this~ =' D

Is wav or brr preferred?

.brr might be more accurate as its encoding is identical to the snes when using samples, instead of the wav file that may lose a bit of quality, also wav's headers can cut off a little of the beginning in a sample, note that all that i say may be imperceptible to hear BUT a ear trained enough may realize so; they still are a good option to go since not all music-composing software can parse .brr files = 3
