Well, I released Super Bat Puncher music, finally. :o and only four years after the game was released!!! It's on Bandcamp for free-as-you-like:

Also includes an NSF which I know some people around here and the Famitracker boards requested.

For those who aren't familiar, SBP is a homebrew NES game released several years back, developed by Morphcat Games (otherwise known as longtime BotBer miau!) There's lots of gameplay vids on youtube if you wanna check it out quickly.

I became a game musician for the successor to the NES: The SNES.

Unless I were to utilize my mini-DPCM magic (I have a really cheap way to pull off some pretty powerful DPCM-style kicks), I would consider my music to be too expensive memory-wise (or too generic, as I find not using DPCM to really kill my interest for making NES music, as I find myself easily bored from time to time when I realize ultimately the lack of variety I can pull off... I've stuck to the SPC700 for precisely this reason: I can use a wide variety of samples with the chip, meaning I can keep going with the thing without getting bored of it. I am, however, planning on a new sound driver.) for game usage. Plus, I also use the wrong sound driver (I use it2nsf).

Still, this dates back to before that time. For whatever reason, I just got a small temptation to make SNES versions of at least one of the pieces of music (I already did part of the Pogo Kitty soundtrack and made that real SNES music, although not with the same samples)...

If you feel like covering one of the tunes, be my guest! Would be interesting to see how that turned out :b

glad you covered all the tunes in the end :) the cover of the main BGM SNESSuperBatPuncherCave.spc is the best one, I'm very impressed with that! sounds like Secret of Mana in places, somehow. also it's just genuinely fascinating to hear your own music re-arranged by people. :P
