There seems to be a few different bots (I think the Lyceum is not fully updated to that, so if anyone who has created and released a bot in the chats would do so, that would be awesome).

Anyhow, it would imho be a nice feature if you'd have a command to see who can host a certain format. e.g. '!host amigamod' returning a list of all BotBers who have a badge.

It could be more complicated (like only showing people who are online atm), but I'd be happy to have this :)

(and afaik requests for new features belong here? as it is not a bug, yet mentioned as 'giving feedback for improvement')

Edit: I was a bit quick, it is possible to find someone hosting by using janglers' site by sorting the progress on badges: http://jangler.info/botb/list?sort=pixel_progress
Yet, I think it'd be a nice feature for the botz.

There was a bot someone made that had a !badge feature a while back, but I haven't seen it around lately.

The only official bot is @botb though. The other ones come and go.

If you can't find a person with a badge, though, just ask an admin to host for you! We can do it!

i used to maintain an IRC bot called plugbot that had this feature. it had a bunch of nifty features (see the vestigial lyceum article) and was fun to develop, but i continually questioned the utility of having such functions available via IRC instead of via a website. some features were "too interesting" and got spammed a lot, and some people made sport of trying to break the bot, so it had a couple of different built-in spam protection mechanisms over its lifetime.

i'm glad that you found that /botb/list page on my website useful. it's fairly powerful, but not exactly "user-friendly", so i wondered if anyone ever used it :~) you could also add "&min=7" to the query to get a nice short list of only botbrs with enough badge progress to host.

Thanks to gotoandplay I got the list page solution :)

Regarding a feature in chat versus on the website: in the end it is often in the chat someone gets triggered to host an ohb as there should be enough animo for not losing b00ns. So it makes sense the euh begging for an ohb to be hosted takes place there too imho.

I'm not sure how to get the attention of an admin tbh...

The people who have @ in the IRC channel are admins. Say their name and they should respond if they're not asleep at the wheel. (If one of them is currently talking in the channel, ask them first before going after the sleepy ones.)
