DAY 1: If you could instantly master any instrument, which one would you choose? Why?

Classical Piano, so I can immediately transition to synthesizers and never touch classical music again. :P

I could probably just wish for magical synth powers from the start but that seems somewhat less fun somehow.

I've always wished I could play flute. That's one instrument that I've just never had any luck with. I think the shape of your lips really does make a difference.

on account of a few things: it's portable, it sounds really pretty, and it's weird and different! I just really like it....

That's where I give up on the idea of making music and program things!

This was pretty much May and half of June for me (in chipmusic terms). My way of coping was to do my coursework, spend time at the piano, and try working more with sheet music. Ultimately this resulted in me getting incredibly frustrated and getting various tracker withdrawal symptoms because it's just not the same. :(

Had I not had access to any instruments whatsoever I think I may've somehow gone more insane than I did that month.

If you define "favourite game of all time" by the game I've considered my favourite game for the longest period of time, then Perfect Dark for the N64 takes that title hands down. But nowadays the game would fail to satisfy me if I were to pick it up again.

I suppose the one game I could pick up at any time and enjoy myself while playing it would be the first Metroid Prime game.

I would regret not having the phone numbers to reach my good friends that I normally talk to online.
Other than that I'd just jump back into music and books, life goes on.
It's something to think seriously about...All it would take is a strong enough Earth-facing X-class Coronal Mass Ejection from the sun to cause an EMP that could wipe out not just the internet but a huge portion of the electronic equipment on the planet.
CME's happen a lot, just not really powerful ones and not often directly toward earth.

DAY 45: What's your average day like?

I sleep in. I drive 20min to work and then go out to eat at a diner. I delegate most of my work to subordinates. I net surf and get drunk. At some point I either go home or go out. I fall asleep with my shoes on.

I lie around and wait for stimulation while hiding from scary unpleasant noises, and begrudgingly fulfill my obligations with a moderate degree of excellence.

My average day when there's school: Wake up at 5:30, eat, shower, take the bus at 7:43, arrive at school 8:00, wait for school to start at 8:30, go to classes, eat at 11:30, go to more classes, take the bus home at 15:30, doing stuff, dinner, doing stuff, brush my teeth, going to bed at 23:00 or 24:00, stay up to 3:00, sleep.

I found my dev/music PC on top of a pile of garbage.

HP, Windows 7, desktop, modern enough (I got it in 2009) but not very good for gaming. 750GB of hard drive space, 8GB RAM. It's good enough for me.

Ktcmoop, mine has about the same specs, except it's a MacBook Pro (got around 2012). Same amount of hard drive space and RAM, though!

I'm currently using a Toshiba Satellite S50t-A laptop which I bought from my school's cooperative store last year. It came with Windows 8 (which I haven't updated to 8.1, and probably never will). Intel Core i7-4700 MQ processor, 1 TB hard drive, 8 GB RAM @ 1600 MHz, NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M graphics card, touch-screen display (15.6" screen w/ a 1366x768 resolution). It's a great laptop and I like it.

The only thing I hate (read: despise) about it is how shitty the audio side in general is (which considering the kind of stuff I do is a real problem). The speakers are tinny and shitty, and the line-in is god-awful - so much, in fact, that I have to make my hardware recordings of NSF tunes on my old alternate laptop. Also it won't run Linux for some reason.
