I think he left because he doesn't liēk children.

If coda really didn't like children, then he wouldn't have joined #roof and #pug, both channels being run by children.

Don't project somebody else's dislike of children on coda, but most importantly, don't project it onto yourself! It's not good for you.

I think the majority of botbrs here dont abide by that ethos, and see compos and majors as a means to improve. I know I do. I think maybe because on here there isn't a set standard of quality that you must be, that it encourages less experienced musicians in making music here, which isn't a bad thing, but it means you trawl through all those songs as a site experience. If you want to up quality without discarding noobs (they are valuable in any community) then you could always limit the amount of major entries by any one botbr to a maximum of three, to force concentration on songcraft over being prolific.

I am a botber and find what coda has said offensive. I strive to make as much 8 bit poop crap as possible for those sweet, sweet boons.

It was not an unfounded observation. I see his point 100%. I obviously don't agree (look at the amount of purposely bad songs I've made compared to the "good" ones), but I see his point.
I think he was justified in leaving if he got the feeling that BotB wasn't "serious" enough for him. To each his own. There is a lot of quality music on BotB. A LOT. But we do enjoy being silly and making silly things and that's one of the most endearing aspects of it IMHO.
