I really like the intro bars to this, the rim/clave hit on the offbeat sounds like a clock ticking, and the bass + synth almost sounds like a tape sample - almost like being stuck in a time loop for a few seconds. it's hypnotic. The giddyup in the middle section is a fun contrast to that, without changing much about the instrumentation makeup -
and then there's the ending, "There's no one else in here besides me and my..." it's compelling, I want to say the omitted final word is 'ghost' but I don't know if that's just meta-gaming knowing the prompt. I can't pin it down exactly, but I feel like there's some sort of rhyming scheme that's setting up 'ghost.'
