haha thanks a lot man! about yours, i only think it didnt win last year because the bytebeat player wasnt able to handle it at all,its something you could pay attention this time (making a more efficient, less Extremely Demanding On The Hardware code)

raphaelgoulart: yeah don't worry, I definitely plan to fix that for my entry this year... somehow, haha

A-zu-ra: I think the greggman player works better in firefox, this wouldn't play for me on chrome but in firefox it plays perfectly

a-zu-ra: i used chrome last year but now it refuses to work with bytebeat, so i used vivaldi
jimmyoshi: when i did my entry last year based on your code, i sent it to greggman and he did an optimised version of it - this entry is based on the optimised version. studying this code and what greggman improved in it is a place to start, i think

I managed to get this to play at 44.1 kHz without lag. Here's a higher quality render

woah, thanks a lot! on my end i was able to get up to 32khz on firefox mostly lag-free, one stutter or another, but not good enough to make an actual render of it

I still think that this kind of abuse of the category is really gross. Too bad I love the song, so smooth!
