Actually, this isn't a DKC-vibe I'm getting. It's technically in the style of "The Doctor and his assistant" from the old SNES demos... or Vortex for the SNES, except with no arpeggios.

The filter sweepy technique is always nice to hear. Not really liking the flute sample though for some reason, think maybe it sticks out too much or has too sharp of an attack? Other than that, nice track! (thumbs up)

You know something? If you're going to go even more Vortex/The Doctor style, then I've got a bugfix to the arpeggio code in AddMusicK on hand, with this particular purpose being one of them.
