serene and beautiful, loved the little bits of glitching as well echoing into the void and adding to the ambience

OK HOW TF DID THOSE SAMPLES FIT!!!

I see you used the Rom format like me. Is it for convenience or for space? how much space was just samples?

Here I was thinking I was pro samplist

it's definitely a space thing. ROM format lets you offload all the song data outside of an .spc so you can spend nearly the entire 64kb on samples + echo delay with impunity!

if you're ultra curious, i have made a whole album

Yeah I have abused the extra space afforded by ROM format in the past. However, I am working with mainly SPCs right now for a super mario world hack, so I often forget about the sheer amount of space I can use in the ROM format.

Is there any way to rip samples from a .smc? I've learned a lot about sampling for an SPC from SNES games and from entries here on Botb. It would be nice to reverse engineer a .smc

my best guess is you'd want to extract the .spc(s) from the ROM and then rip samples from there, since that's still where the samples are gonna be stored (at least in the case of c700), but i've never looked into how one does this

This is incredible. I forgot I was listening to an SNES track. I love your stuff!
