I wasn't really sure what I might do for this battle. 90% of my composing lately has been for my degree, and I've got plenty of projects to work on there, so my time otherwise is limited.
So I thought I would use my backup plan. This is a piece for wind band which I completed a little while ago. I intend to have it played by an actual live wind band at some point, but for now it only exists as a Sibelius render on my computer.

Rendered using (a trial version of) NotePerformer, so no expensive sound libraries here!

this sounds a hell of a lot better than most sound libraries i've heard. i legit thought this was a real performance at first. i must look into this "NotePerformer" thing.

as for the actual piece, it's really nice. reminds me of george gershwin.

Wow, when I saw there was a classical battle I immediately scrolled down to find your entry. Excellent again, love your music, I still listen to Sunrise at Spring Valley every now and again :)

played some of your weeklybeats quite a lot in 2014! learnt recently you were marimbal there (unless I misunderstood)!

This one reminded me of Gershwin too, meeting Prokofiev or something but I don't know shit about classical music. Enjoyed it thoroughly :)

That's professional stuff, no less. I hear Stravinsky and Gershwin vibes, too.

Congratulations. Even your "not expensive" render sounds better than some professional works; I can't imagine how amazing this will be when performed.

GOD, this is SMOOTH

I could see this being the music for a snowy forest level in a turn based strategy RPG like Final Fantasy Tactics
