That's officially the longest Tritone song I've ever seen!
That's officially the longest Tritone song I've ever seen!
1-bit buzzy descriptioncore hackist ireland ireland reprise longcatislong ok rave tech ZX Spectrum
WARNING: This song will consume half of your ZX Spectrum's memory (not to mention the CPU will be consumed by sound processing for a while)!
Courtesy of the Tritone Musical Virus, created by KungFuFurby (with original Tritone program created by Shiru).
Hacks include:
- Moving the start point to $8000 in ZX Spectrum memory (I would have done $6000, but that would have resulted in slowdown. The song is indeed too large to start at $C000 in ZX Spectrum RAM, as it clocks in at a whopping 24 kilobytes... yeah... definitely consumes a lot of memory.)
- Combines two module files into one in the .asm file (The order list ended up being greater than 255 in length, so I just made a second module with all of the patterns in there and kept on going. I've only had to do this one other time, and it was with a 40 minute song rather than an 8 minute song.)
- Pitch values manually hacked for a smooth slide (One pattern in particular needed its pitch values corrected because the conversion utensil failed to handle detuning in a linear scale... instead, it literally subtracted or added one to the pitch value. That would have ruined the psuedo-smooth pitch slide illusion had I kept it as is.)
And I even did it all in a day's worth of work! (I finished last night, then uploaded this morning.)
