Remember the classical major? I don't. That's because I had not yet discovered this goofy site yet.

I discovered the classical battle one day, looked through the
entries and said "Damn... I wish I could've been in something like this."

There is only Classical major. We need MOAR.

i thought about musescore too but being confined to "the sounds a notation software can produce by default" is pretty crippling when it comes to this sort of thing, in my experience

How literal would you be taking "classical"?

would it be "classical music", ie 'artmusic in the western cultural tradition' (including modern artists like Phillip Glass, Ellen Fullman, Peter Sculthorpe, Max Richter etc, basically any 'serious' music that isn't in the popular or folk tradition),
or
literal "Classical music", specifically 'artmusic in the western cultural tradition in the style of music from the Classical period which was a specific range of time in the 18th and 19th centuries', so stuff that's stylistically similar to Beethoven and Mozart, and bad luck to fans of Debussy?

If this gets chosen for whatever reason I’ll leave it up to interpretation, I think most of us have a pretty good idea of how “classical” music is supposed to sound, it’s a genre but it’s also a style. If people implement the clear stylistic choices of classical composers into their music then that’s really what i’m looking for. It doesn’t necessarily have to be orchestral, just obviously don’t write funk or techno or whatever.

yeah that definitely sounds like allgear, then. Although I'm totally going to have to listen to some musescore batols
