The first two seconds sound exactly like Peaceful Moon from virt's Bloodrayne: Betrayal OST.

Sounds like you're really just grabbing for more straws there. I never even heard any other songs on that album except the energetic songs like the first level song and such. I heard the song you were talking about, and I think the note progression is somewhat similar at the beginning, but the songs are overall different.

It's kind of a stock bassline.

with the 8bit (official) version of peaceful moon it does sound very similar with duty, echo, and all ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0fwtS3Ye7g ) but with a little less accompaniment (which wouldn't be possible to add anyway, since this ohc wasn't nsf+). that's why i voted the song so low compared to the other voters, but i will concede that i thought that it was just a very short loop and didn't bother to listen to the rest of it, which is a bit impatient on my part.

We're talking about seven notes, outlining a bog-standard F minor arpeggio, using a bog-standard NES instrument. It's not even used thematically in either piece. Even if it was deliberately copied from virt's piece, it's such pedestrian material that it hardly matters anyway.

i downvoted on the principle that it was similar, and i stand by it. i can understand an homage but it was too similar for me to warrant calling it that, however small and insignificant the part may be. i can appreciate and believe why you may overlook that detail, but it's not as if i can posthumously change my vote (not that i would, unfortunately).
