It has officially been launched. Three weeks of chiptune submissions to follow!!

We will be voting on the same categories as last year : heart-magic, brain-tech, thumb-blister, wow-tilt & shit-in-pants.

And the consoles are: VIC20, C64, Amiga, Atari XL/XE, NES + Famicon, Gameboy, AdLib, 12k chiptune, 24k chiptune

Alright - you can upload your own .MP3 rendering of your chiptunes. On the tune's page, below the speaker icon, you sohuld see a 'upload mp3' link. Try it out...

puke7, consider applying for a free untergrund.net site. I'm sure this classes as scene-related ;) You can have a mysql database & unlimited space + mirrored FTP. :) only snag is you can't access it via shell afaik.

I don't understand the points system. I have 110 points, I have never been through a battle. I have never voted on anything or uploaded any samples. Don't get me wrong, I like points but I noticed Traits has 90 points. He had a pretty cool track in the Ann Arbor comp. Why do I have more points then him already?

You have uploaded 2 tunes, have commented alot more than traits, (30 points by that only), and traits did get 12/18 placement in that compo, which means he didnt get much score from it.

That's true, but if you get so many points by just uploading tracks how does that translate to someone who is a mixist? Theoretically I could upload 10 tracks this compo and make so many points a mixist could never catch up. The ten tracks could get totally shot down in the votes and it would'nt even matter. Am I wrong about how it works?

Maybe even negative points if you're on the site too much. My friend was playing the Wii and told me that the Wii will actually stop in a middle of game, tell you that you've been on too long and encourage you to go take a walk or some other form of exercise

Anti-Cheat - In the future remix/allgears compos will earn more points to compensate for these multi-platform chip compos. Getting a point for someone listening to your tune is still relatively new.... not really sure how relatively new though...

m0d - If I wasn't such a lazy admin I would code a pagination feature ;P

I think hosting an event should get you 1 point for every person who shows up or 2 points for any event people have to pay for because it's so much harder to get people to come out. Free would always be preferred but unfortunately it's not always an option. 3 points if it's at the loft.
