BotB has received another name_change request. BotB has no such built-in feature -- it is currently a manual operation. This creates a question for BotB community : Once someone registers with a certain nick should they be stuck with it? Should they be forced to start a whole new BotB Playa account with the new nick of their choice?

Hmm, being able to change one's nick would be a good idea imho, might be abused and wreak some havoc, but that only adds to the fun ;D

Most message boards will not allow you to change your nick. Plus all the files attached to a Playa's account would have to be renamed every time, right?

Allow a limited username change (once a year) and only after considering or stating what's wrong with it?

For instance, if there's swearing on a nickname, I think it would be a good idea to allow (after a request) an user to change his nick. But it should not happen again.

Also, in case somebody wants to leave no traces of himself|herself on the page (I've heard of some developers being stalked in the past :D )

It would be good if it´s allowed to change nick once a year at highest, people that got problems to decide their nicks will trubble the OP´s and the nick change built in function sounds more pretty lame imho....

Perhaps changing a nick only twice for any given BotB playa account -- so 3 nicks total throughout a BotB playa career. Being able to change your screen_nick on the fly is not only confusing but a MySpace feature. =D
