if someone has the time to make a nice bitpack wouldn't they be able to include a .txt in their .zip if they wanted?

It would seem that "Bitpack" is being confused with "sample pack" in the OP. Haeit me if I'm wrong.

What you are saying is that a bitpack can be a .zip file that includes both a sample pack and a theme written in a .txt file, yes? And you want more people to do this.

Maybe bitpacks could come with a BOOBS.txt to make people read it after unzipping :o

I think what b00daw's saying is that we should be able to both submit a bitpack (samples and/or whatever source material needed) and write text in the text field that explains the rules etc.

It makes perfect sense to do this...saves the trouble of making a zip file and saves participants the hassle of unzipping just to read "make song about cat". This seems to be especially useful in a Remix or S3xmodit battle.

This is a v good idea!!

when begasting, currently there is an option for bitpack or text, would be nice that the text displays on the front for the rules, etc. might also attract more people to enter who are reluctant to download the bitpack or enter.

If I have both samples and a theme, I just simply zip the sample pack and the .txt together.

This is absolutely something that should be incorporated, imo. The "rules" for a compo should be right up on the OHB page, no reason to tie it to bitpack.

Indeed -- the supercool suggestion here is to have text-based "bitpacks" actually show up on the main compo front. A second field for a zip upload would be good too, that way you can do things like say "here's a sample pack and BTW don't use any NNA's" and not have some silly entrant miss the latter part. :P
