Okay-

I'm Blank. The official promoter
of the "Detroit Battle of the Bits"

If anyone has any questions or comments please post them here and I will reply as soon as possible.

So here is the first update.

Last night I talked to 555 Gallery folks.

Everything is a go. They're very supportive
and I'm glad that the competition is coming
back to the 555. For those who don't know the
first competition was held at the former 555 home in Ann Arbor.

The awards ceremony on July 9 location is
unconfirmed. It will be either at the 555 or a
undisclosed Detroit location.

I was at the 1st 555 show...But did not compete.
Instead I stole the plates off Crustinas cruiser.
I was in the 2nd where I got MOST DISTURBED....
And the 3rd where I placed 3rd to last.
(thanx to a FRONT242 disqualification)

NOW....I'm back and ready.
And won't be relying soley on the 80's 4tracker, but it may play a small role....of course.

While you probably did block the ability to create new accounts from one Email.....
You might not have taken into account that you could make up a new Email under yahoo,hotmail,etc...

You can make up fake emails all day, and vamp up your votes ......What about the possibility of only having a set number of members for each comp....

Say (example)15 contestants/25 sample/ 48 hours?

I have other suggestions but tell me what you think?

maybe instead of having a set number of members it would be better to only allow people who contibute in some way, such as samples or tracks, to vote?

I think ConBio is on to something here. I've been thinking about this for a while now and I'm still really not sure how to got about doing it exactly. One idea I had was to track everyone's voting activity and delete anyone's votes who only voted on 1 track or obviously only voted good for 1 track and bad for the rest. I dunno. Time to start revamping this site a little, though.

I can't get an avatar up. Does it have to be exactly 125x125? Even one of that size didn't work for me.

Yes, it does have to be exactly that size. Looks like your IP is changing alot -- your name is appearing like 7x over in the WHO's ON box... I don't think that would cause the error -- what file type is your avatar?
