Thread closed but I just wanted to add that for a site that aims to preserve everything forever in many many aspects, it's fucking disorienting to encounter posts be outright deleted with no indication of what was said nor who even said it nor what ailments may or may not have been dealt nor any mods explaining what not to do.

To be fair I've also always hated the historical revisionism of mods editing an entry to become "This botbr is ashamed of what's written" or whatever it is. Though to be fair I understand the case of when it's egregious like "idk why if a rando drops an n-bomb why we should tell everyone that.
like, a post has to be pretty bad to be hidden"

But I feel like I've always encountered that on way to frequent of a basis for it to have been an extreme measure. It's been used more like a common measure.

There's no real request here, I just wanted to discuss on the discussion.

If anything I'd request "do we really need "asshole" signs where the holes are? " yes, it is nice to have signs in places

the original thread was closed for a reason, you know. botb is not an archive of forum posts. frankly it is not a forum. it is a music site supplemented by a forum system. if posts in that system are deemed negatively impactful to the site in a significant manner, they are removed. simple as that.

as a side note, mods cannot edit posts. "botbr is ashamed of what written" is the replacement text for a user removing the contents of their own post

Posts are usually deleted since they usually don't fit the place they are posted in and don't need to be seen in public.

I personally disagree with having notable signs everywhere. No one should be able to see bad things/situations/words live on a public forum, especially when it's not needed and get in the way of anything else.
If there are persons involved in a problem , mods will always inform said person about ailments and when they are going to expire/tell about issues. It's not a community issue when only very few were involved in the first place, and not everyone needs to hear it.

Recently has been an unfortunately timing with zombis on the site, this is however not common on this site and otherwise only used to block spambots. One thing that is however notable is that each hidden posts adds an empty row, which becomes very visible after a few in a row.

what's really important is that we frame all drama on the site and put it in a gallery on display

botb was built to produce drama

all the effort i put into making this a place a positive space for learning and development is all a ruse to produce drama

i can't believe we are trying to hide drama

it must really suck to be xyz and not be on the site all the time with popcorn watching drama
