not sure it qualifies as "feature request" maybe just an idea

how about having compos with a limited amount of time as in xHB's, but instead of having it happening at the same time for everyone, it could be a compo whose submit time spans a couple of days, but the format and bitpack only appear as you click "enter compo", and from that moment the x hours countdown begins and you gotta make your track and submit it?

now that i've written it i guess it's a lot of work for a limited benefit but maybe it can give somebody else a better, more realistic idea?

would've loved to enter the 10 years of kefcore 4HB but i won't be available when it happens, that's why i though of that :)

and yes @MS, cheating was always a risk there too, but there are often ways one COULD cheat in botb compos, so basically it boils down to the honor system anyway. if you got found out cheating, as with any battle here, you would be downvoted and/or chastised :)

i propose "Zoom I" or "Discord I" (etc.) could be the first of these in the covid era (since they were traditionally named after a city in which a wrap-up IRL listening party would take place... such a party would take place online nowadays anyway!)

Yeah, although we'll never be able to stop cheaters, I don't think we should let the prospect of someone doing so stop us from doing fun things :D and this is defo a fun idea.

There's a lotta potential for a wide span of different battle types, with the advent of 2 and 4 hour battles. The real good thing about the prospect of this battle type, is it can run alongside xhbs without necessarily disturbing the flow as much.

I'm not too fussed myself, as we're still having a merry time with xhbs, and I know it all boils down to pukes labors x) however I would defo be all for it being a hosting option.
