Hello. We're trying out CSS3 text drop-shadows in the stylesheet. Should be supported by recent versions of firefox, chrome and safari. It looks really nice but bogs down the browsers.

So, maybe there should be an option in the 'settings'?

Yeah, it does look nice. You should make it an option (not on by default) so when browsers handle it faster we can turn it on :D

While this is nice, I feel that this should be used more sparingly, since its overuse is just... well... overwhelming, I guess.

I also agree with trap15. Those who don't have decent enough computing power for the shadows should be able to turn them off.

It works, it looks good, but my browser screams for mercy. Please make it optional.

This feature is now set to off by default.

Change it on your 'Settings' page!! ;D/

Those who don't have decent enough computing power will likely have no fun with the site anyway, lol.
The scrolling's all choppy for me and pushes my CPU usage to 100% in both Chrome and Firefox on a fairly decent dual core. No other site does that unless they have evil flash ads which, fortunately, are easy to block.

I'd like to see a lo-fi version of botb some time. With all the lo-fi chippyness going on it sounds only natural to me?! But that'd prolly be a ton of work for ol' pukey, so don't mind me :C

Well, I dunno WHAT is slowing the site down, but if that would help speed it up... yusss!!
