Such sick tunage in this chip m9m! I know you don't really like my music (can't win em all) but I think yours is dope, so if you have any advice I would be grateful. Most of the compositions here I rushed out quickly just to try out as many different chips and trackers as possible (first time on a lot of them), and it was a lot of fun. I'm feeling more confident about tracking now, but still feel like I've barely scratched the surface! Also, I am terrible at mixing and mastering... so no news to me there lol. As for not liking my style, not much I can do. But hopefully I can put my all into a composition one day that you will dig (because I'd love to compose more like that Yama Hana! Sooo good, note choices, sound design, all! Inspiring, goals.
My suggestion to you would be to keep experimenting with different sound designs and tools. Try to pick 3-4 tools you know you want to use a lot and try to get very good at those (mine would be FL 12, 0CC-FT and OpenMPT).
Additionally, never try to submit to every single format in a future major (unless there's like 2 or 3 formats tops). Unless you are lucky to come up with an idea for each format, you'll get drained out of inspiration very quickly. I did this once and after that I just ran dry.
Another advice would be to not use Deflemask for formats like the Master System (SN7T exists for this) or NSF (0CC-FT exists for this too). Try out different tools for the same formats, too (I used to use Deflemask for my Genesis music, but after that I went SMPS and I'm very much satisfied with it. Can't wait for YM2612 support on SnevenTracker, though). Mostly saying this because Deflemask is one broken tool to use, sadly.
I'll add this too; I don't hate your music, in fact, I think you have a lot of potential! If you keep experimenting and coming up with new things (rather than just reusing old tehniques and whatnot) then you may become one of my favourite botbrs around here (you're already pretty close, while I'm not a huge fan of your music, I do think it brought some fresh competition to the community, and that's really great.) The positivity you spread around here is also nice.
TL;DR Try new things and tehniques, don't submit to every format, and ditch Deflemask.
