Spring Tracks IV girls* story shorts coming soon
*Personality/descriptions of formats based solely on the author's perception of them

Brief character introductions (Spring Tracks IV girls only for now)
Allgear
The all-arounder that can basically do anything. Famous (and, at the same time, infamous) for being easy on the non-tracker folks.

Deflemask
A multi-talented tracker girl whose face is always concealed with a mask. Claims to be secretive about her ways. Infamous for the aforementioned secrecy, among other things.

Famitracker
A lazy tracker girl that strives to be cool like the NSF sisters, NSF and NSF+. A slacker most of the time, but is very useful to those that get to know her. Infamous for sometimes breaking out in hostile retorts.

Mariopantse
A thrice-removed cousin of Mario Paint. Also very tall in comparison to Mario Paint, so tall that she ended up ditching her overalls as a result (though she retains the red-blue clothing color motif).

Mix Battle Art
A painter and, sometimes, a graphic artist. She's only really good at the visual arts, so she spends plenty of time in her personal studio creating cover art for the others.

OpenMPT
The result of taking DNA samples from s3xmodit and attempting to make a clone of her. Something went slightly wrong in the cloning process, though, and as a result has some slight quirks that make her different from s3xmodit.

Panda
Stubborn tracker girl that plays by her rules and her rules only. Can be somewhat difficult to deal with at first, though some people have managed to tame this beast...somewhat.

pxtone
The new kid on the block, she has somewhat of a tracker mentality despite not technically being a tracker girl. Is inexperienced with the music world, though she really loves video games.

Renoise
The somewhat all-arounder of tracker girls. Has a good amount of the quirks of allgear, but with the status of a tracker. Now if only Allgear would notice...

s3xmodit
A cold, refined tracker girl that's seen it all (or almost all). Is kind of irked that more non-tracker folk are encroaching on her domain, though she's lightened up a bit on the ordeal...or has she?

Sunvox
No one understands this mysterious girl, not even herself. Still doesn't stop others from trying, though.

And, of course, the new challenger.

bytebeat
The newer kid on the block, she doesn't really talk all that much. When she does, however, she speaks in a strange way that leaves everyone scratching their heads. Only those that are willing to learn her language will get the most out of this mostly minimal being.

Story 0 - Welcome to Spring Tracks

April. A month that runs just about a couple weeks after Spring begins. Every April in Bit Land, there is an event that I host called Spring Tracks. With it comes a nice variety of formats that I hand-pick from a roster of girls that embody the feeling of the hardware or styles they originate from. This variety ensures that the event reaches as many denizens of Bit Land as possible; after all, an event’s not an event without participants!

The first Spring Tracks was actually pretty small, but it was more of a test to see how something in the Spring would pan out. After all, I’ve been running Winter Chip for as long as I’ve been in Bit Land, and Summer Chip was also relatively new at the time as well. I started off Spring Tracks with a handful of tracker girls, mod8k, Renoise, s3xmodit, and SunVox. Mod8k was selected for her petite demeanor (perhaps a bit too petite, now that I think about it), Renoise for her advanced capabilities (and for those that wanted something more from their tracker girls), s3xmodit for those yearning for a familiar face (and let’s face it, mod8k was rather demanding for most of the denizens of Bit Land), and SunVox…because I picked names from a hat and she just managed to come up. I dunno, SunVox is a pretty strange beast.

Spring Tracks II brought in some new format girls and, along with it, a lot more participants than ever before. Among our newbies was someone named “Mix Battle Art,” or MBA for short. Long story short, I was looking for recruits, a painter girl came up to me, scolded me for my crappy hack job from last year, then decided to take the role. Next in the new docket was mod48k, a more mature sister of mod8k chosen for her still petite demeanor but without 99% of the headache. Last to be added was…DefleMask. She always wears that dumb mask and tries to act all cool with how secretive and multi-talented she is. I swear, sometimes pulling names from a hat can screw me over in ways I would never see coming.

The Spring Tracks momentum just kept on going, and for Spring Tracks ]|[, we had even more additions to the roster. This time, I brought in our first non-tracker girl: Mariopantse. She’s apparently a thrice-removed cousin of Mario Paint, and she was also so tall, she couldn’t fit through the door. Also, unlike Mario Paint, Mariopantse didn’t have the overalls that Mario Paint always wears, which would’ve been enough if she wasn’t also wearing red and blue...either way, s3xmodit didn’t seem all that excited to see Mariopantse added to the Spring Tracks roster. Thankfully that changed when I picked FamiTracker to join the ranks this time around. She’s kind of a slacker and sometimes snaps at the other girls for some silly reasons, but she also told me that she wants to make it big like the NSF sisters. I want to have hope for her, though…maybe if she tones it down a bit with her snapping habits.

And now, another April has come upon us. I’ve already decided the new formats to join our ranks, and I’m sure this’ll bring in more Bit Land residents than any of the last three Spring Tracks I’ve hosted. Unfortunately, I don’t think s3xmodit’s gonna be happy with the new addit—

“You say something, Puke?”

Crap.

“So who are our newbies this year? I hope you brought in more tracker girls this year,” s3xmodit says as she gives me the death stare. Apparently one non-tracker girl is too much for this girl, so heaven forbid she finds out about this year’s entrants.

“Well, thankfully we have some new trackers this year,” I reply to her, trying my best not to mention the other two additions from her. “We’re having OpenMPT and Panda join us.“

s3xmodit sighs. Really, though, at the very least they’re tracker girls. Sure, OpenMPT was the result of a weird experiment that involved s3xmodit’s DNA, but that’s a story for another time.

“Who else? I’m sure it’s not just OpenMPT joining us.” s3xmodit then notices the papers on my work desk, then before I knew it, she rushed to my desk to take a peek. What she saw made her eyes widen so hard, and all I could think to myself was…oh crap.

“YOU BASTARD! WHY!? WHY!??!”

…yep, this is gonna be one helluva Spring Tracks, alright.

In this context, I've known s3xmodit the longest through Schism Tracker (since 2005). I migrated from Harmony Assistant (except for soundfont ripping) and ultimately fell in love with Schism Tracker (especially for SNES soundtracks), which is how I got to know s3xmodit. Of course, I came to the site thanks to spc, not s3xmodit.

I've technically known Allgear longer than s3xmodit, but only indirectly. This is from my PS2 music days (in 2004), and Harmony Assistant, too. Directly meeting Allgear? That was when I came to this site.

I wouldn't be surprised if somebody had the time to make a video out of this story.
