i find it funny this thing runs on the wii and wii u for those hardcore chiptuners who want to track with a wiimote

I was surprised about it too ah ah! But someone told me on Discord you can plug a computer keyboard into the Wii and apparently it's mainly how you use Schism on the Wii (I guess it's the same on the Wii U).
