as you know, the ailment was supposed to just be two weeks zombi, but it's clear that you're not interested in learning to get along with others. so mummi for life it is. o/
I've got no choice but to side with you on this one. If a 15-year old kid is able to trigger a grown-up adult into FURY simply by calling them names, clearly the problem is in the adult, not the kid. Rationale: Having emotional outbursts is normal for a teenager going through puberty, not so much for an adult.
The behavior of admins has been inane and discriminative, especially for a niche community where fellow demosceners are always expected to help out each other and inspire new members of the community.
"We don't want people like you" and "autistic off the scale, doesn't understand reasoning" sums up the attitude, again, grown adults. I don't know if I have a skewed definition of "good faith" or something, but to me these comments do not represent it.
And don't even try to defend this disgraceful language by pulling the "friendly shittalk and banter" card, this is not banter. Banter doesn't include the part where you isolate and deny somebody out of their passion completely and possibly destroy their future dreams by very young age. Yeah, think about the same happening to yourself. Empathy, none? It's time to learn some tolerance towards different people. Don't even go calling somebody autistic if your own actions are sociopathic.
Christ, disgusting! Klutzy, in case you won't get blessed, I present my greayest honor to you a martyr who has fallen on the behalf of others.
"The behavior of admins has been inane and discriminative, especially for a niche community where fellow demosceners are always expected to help out each other and inspire new members of the community."
I mean, not trying to attack you too much since i'm not 100% up to date on what happened with Klutzy. But honestly, i don't really think it's fair to make a point like this when Klutzy himself would probably not even follow this up. I haven't seen him try to help others and inspire people. I've only seen him try to beg for advice from others all the time and rage about things, and then when he's warned about his behavior, instead of looking at what's wrong he just amplifies what he's doing. I'm sure there's a good reason why he's zombi'd and mummi'd - he could've also adapted his behavior to what is expected normally, but that didn't happen, and now we're here.
lia dont make ridiculous accusations when you dont know the background. whether he's a kid or not, he has been harassing people nonstop, and does not learn from any form of discipline. this has been going on for a long time and there was no outburst on any admin's side--the ice he's been treading for months finally snapped under the weight of his actions. that's all. when the admin team agrees on a decision it is not because one of us had an "outburst" or went into "fury" as you put it. we wouldn't tolerate behavior like his from a 30 year old, and we won't tolerate it from someone his age either.
e: sorry i got a bit upset here but yeah just understand there's a lot more to this than meets the eye
WouterVL: That would be a fair point if somebody actually tried explaining it to him. Instead I look at the logs and see him asking a question, followed by people telling him to shut up, go away and quit asking dumb questions. He's understandably frustrated by such treatment.
Sinc-X: "Rules don't change for kids" Please reconsider if BotB is the kind of community where a very strict ruleset is absolutely necessary. He is not a troll, not a spammer but actually interested to take part in the community and learn about the tracking scene, and he has also recently admitted his wrong behavior on IRC. I see no reason not to unmummify him once this hase been sorted out.
With "outburst" I'm mainly just referring to the emotionally charged language usage.
I have experience with him in my own Discord server, and i can assure you that this has definitely been explained to him before, but he wouldn't listen. Sure, people are allowed to ask questions about how things work, and i fully encourage that. But Klutzy doesn't just... do that. He always kept asking a lot of questions that simply make no sense (how do i make C64 drums in Audacity), then when someone gives an answer (just download some C64 drums, here's a samplepack zip, here's a guide on how to create your own chip drums) he just completely ignores it or rages because it's not the answer he expected (NO SHUT UP I WANNA MAKE DRUMS IN AUDACITY OMG).
I can get why people get upset if this happens for the 100th time and Klutzy still gives the same response despite being warned for it over and over again. Eventually after having warned him for this behavior a lot, he ended up making a module literally titled "Wouter hates me now" acting as if it was *my* fault for being upset, instead of taking responsibility for his behavior. That's how he was banned in my server.
If he was interested in being a good member of the community and if he was really sorry for his behavior, then he should show that. But pretending to be a different person by going on an alt on IRC and asking repeatedly to get Klutzy's account unbanned is not how you show that, right?
keep in mind that not all discussion is necessarily public, as well. and i completely agree with him not being a troll or spammer - but until he has grown past this phase, and maybe we'll consider giving him another shot in a year or so, he's proven to us to make the community more toxic for everyone involved. and if he isn't learning now, he should come back when he has and is capable of being a good community member, instead of dragging us all unvoluntarily along for the ride. of course we want to see people grow and get better, but if that involves making a lot of other people uncomfortable and/or upset, it's not a reasonable trade-off.
dont know if im allowed to jump into this discussion but from my point of view, the "rules dont change for kids" is a valid point, at least for internet platforms and forums like this one.
see... me as a user on this website really appreciate the atmosphere and overall feeling on here. and its mainly because trolls/spammer are getting banned, the admin team is doing a good job and the community is very friendly overall. people like klutzynotademoscener really lowering my experience on here and i'm sure this counts for some other people as well.
only because he's young doesnt mean he's allowed to fuck everyone up as much as he wants. if he's getting unbanned now just because he's a kid, would be 1. unfair for other people who might got ailed before for similar reasons 2. reduce the value of rules at all.
edit: oh and i agree with sincx comment above this one

Klutzy: Creating C64-style drums is audacity is pretty easy. You just highlight a short area (about 10th of a second) and click generate -> noise. Then highlight some area from the beginning and click generate -> tone. Choose square as the waveform and a frequency from about 80 to 200. Then you can add a fade out effect.
There you already got a simple drum, you could try experimenting with different frequency options, maybe use the "change speed" option to make the noise more lo-fi by slowing it down.
WouterVL & Sinc-X: A discussion that's not public (e.g discord DMs) shouldn't be that relevant here. Banning them on BotB for privately harassing you somewhere else is a personal revenge, when you could have just blocked them to stop it OR talked it through in private.
kleeder & others: Again, the overall atmosphere wouldn't suffer if the disagreements could be sorted out maturely. I'm bringing this up again, but a grown-up getting upset/uncomfortable from a young person acting like a young person is a bit... exceptional.
scrubbed for 2 weeks due to zombi-ailment evasion by using public toilet. also 2 weeks parasite after hosting the exact same confusing and vague bitpack a 2nd time in the span of 2 days.

hello.
you have been mummied because we (admins) decided that chat bans will now lead to site bans as well. we will not treat them as different entities from now on.
