for my previous field recording entry i ended up sitting my recorder on my porch for several hours and cutting up the result - i had recorded some other cool stuff but the sd card had been corrupted. (maybe it was an sd reader issue, in hindsight)

this is a spiritual sequel to that entry... fitting to tackle again because i'm in a totally different place, physically and personally, so i can tell new stories with familiar playing pieces. i sat my recorder in my backyard during snow flurries, left it for some hours, and was frankly amazed at how many cool and wonderful sounds came through. it's a marvel. so much happens all the time. there was more than enough material tbh.

field recordings can act as some voyeuristic window - you know what it sounds like where i live, now. i've told you. last battle, i got to tag along on mcfiredrill's korean grocery adventure, i got to hear roz play a public piano, i got to hear kleeder walk through her world. isn't that amazing? i mean it, the ambience of every day is something to be appreciated, it's unique and personal noise.
