In spite of the whimsicalness of the Weekend, there always exists a looming dark cloud on the horizon: Monday, back-to-work doom herald and arch-nemesis of all excitement. Even for those fortunate enough to begin their week on a Tuesday or beyond, that dreadful first-of-the-week feeling crashes in regardless, rendering one utterly helpless to the forces of sleep deprivation and debilitating mundanity. No matter how one may try, one can never escape the Substitute Monday.
