The HTML rules will be rewritten, since that article was not approved
by the "staff", the general rules for the compos are to only use things you created yourself, or in the Remix compos to use the supplied material.

Ok, I'm a bit so so on this. Because I get a scrub for non-intentionally breaking the invisible real rules while the entry that became third does hotlink (witin botb.org; so also adding extra points) to a midi file that is not originally made by the creator.

Feeling like a total tightass ponting this out, because personally I'm all for some fun and not being too tight with the rules. Immediatly upon sigining up I got my first scrub when I unintentionally broke the rules with a nice joke and now again. Iz not fair... :-(

It's sometimes a tricky situation to know what to ail/scrub and what not,
its usually up for Admin discretion, and some harder cases are discussed between admins. sometimes there is a mismatch of rules, which seemed to happen in this OHC, and sometimes Admins even miss that other people broke some other funny rule. We will work on making rules clearer, we just do not want people to start uploading other peoples materials because it could get people/the site into trouble later.

i didn't notice the hotlinked midi since my browser didn't play it :P

For whatever reason, at the time I threw my entry together I thought "no external links" meant nothing outside of BotB, not all assets must be local.

FWIW, the embedded midi player is broken. It appears firefox doesn't support midi playback by default and you get a permission error under IE, so I don't think anyone got any extra points from it.

if there were an ailment that prevented people from uploading rule-breaking entries i'd gladly give that instead of scrub. that's what ailments are generally for--preventing types of problematic behavior, not for 'punishment'. unfortunately, no such ailment exists. i use the scrub ailment to bring the fact that there was some sort of transgression or misunderstanding to the attention of the botbr and the other admins, and as a temporary sort of slap-on-the-wrist.

if you don't understand why you were ailed, please bring the matter to my attention or to the attention of one of the other admins. my goal is to help people who mean no harm understand what went wrong. if i think we've reached a consummate understanding then i'll gladly unail ye
