finally, i made an msx+ tune.
this format was the bane of my existence (i had like 20 attempts or smth) till i learnt you could multi-expansion
so i made this
Y8950 + OPLL only (sample channel of Y8950 not used, just pure FM lol)
its not amazing ig, nor long (:sob:), but eh i guess it's ok

each pattern was 40 rows long, and i used intervals of 5 rows and 8 rows (math)
idk what time signature that is and im 2 lazy to learn

It is indeed 4/4 but I think having the rows divided into 5 gives it an interesting lilting rhythmic feel. Interesting harmonic stuff going on too. Cool to hear you experimenting!
