thanks!!! this 2nd hand laptop got me through uni. after windows started stressing it out i installed linux mint and now it's nice & snappy again! just passed 10 years old according to the serial number and still going strong, broken hinge notwithstanding.

btw the screensaver sofware is xscreensaver
