Somebody please render this for me, I'm having problems with Stella. Should be 1:55 long, so it cuts just shortly after the loop.

Try uploading something first. I have the ability to reupload renders on others but not this one for some reason. I have it already rendered and ready to go.

Fun stuff going around here. Less noise than on the rest of TIA entries, although the melody is more experimental than melodic.

...drat, that sounded lame.

I can upload MP3s for others but not this entry for some reason. Strobe or puke7 may have to look into it.

The only thing I'd do different when possible is put some spaces between those notes. Good sound and style.

are there many PAL 2600's in europe currently or do most europeans import NTSC 2600's these days?

also was this recorded on a NTSC or PAL 2600?

there are tons of PAL 2600s floating around, especially Juniors. pretty much the only 8-bit machine you can still find regularly for good prices at the fleamarket. i think only hardcore gamers import NTSC machines - personally, i don't know anybody who owns one.

the recording was made from a PAL (classic wooden) machine. and it sounds better that way imo.

I guess since the NTSC and PAL 2600s have the same processor speed, it shouldn't matter as long as you're running the NTSC kernel and not a PAL kernel which would take more cycles as there are more scanlines to draw. Did you ask Koen if Slocum's visualizer kernel looked all fucked-up on his PAL 2600? :)

I recorded from my AV modded atari straight from the tia. I can play all ntsc games on my pal console. The colors are off though.

Oh hai there Keoni ;) And sorry b00daw for the late reply.
It seems to me that the song runs slower on a real PAL system than on Stella with NTSC settings. Whether that's due to faulty emulation, a quirk in the code, or my simply imagination, I don't know.
No idea how Slocum's kernal looks on PAL hw either. Can it possibly look any more fucked up than normal? :p Keoni, if you want to give it a try, code and test binary are here
