In a world where chips of the past are sometimes forgotten... we at Battle of the Bits bring them back, and sometimes reveal secrets that not many know about. This song unites the NES, SNES, and maybe even the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive (although with more than just sine waves) using the SPC700 via the powers of samples, pitch modulation and noise generation. This is the secrets of the SPC700 put to use... no streaming data, no echo (reverberation need not apply, even though there is room for it if I wanted to), no post-processing... just pure SPC700 magic.

Come out... come out and demonstrate the endless struggle between chips past and present! And maybe even the future chips...

Nah. It's been a while since I could enter a SPC file into a battle. Believe me, it's not as common here, but I'm still proud that I can do so at all.

By the way, to the person that said Chrono Trigger as a tag... none of the samples are directly ripped from Chrono Trigger.

That's no sample: that's a pitch modulation effect! ^_^

It's a shame you didn't win a trophy for this. You're the best on this site at spc

Actually, I'm wondering if I should up the quality of the samples (with an appropriate trade-off on the other end) for my next Summer Chip entry. Maybe that has something to do with it...
