i'm so excited for this!!! also this battle art is fantastic!!!
(Thanks to Tristendo for the piano roll logo idea!)
Yo! Yamaha's XG standard saw a lot of support not only on Yamaha's MU series, but many of their other products, too, in addition to a couple KORG products and a good number of PC games. This battle is all about the celebration of this wacky and wondeful format: use any device in XG mode to compose a totally tubular 90s banger in this wildchiptune ride! (And remember to submit it as .MID/.MIDI!) And if you're tuning in at home and don't have one of these wondeful devices, remember: it's not about the feature list. It's about how you use it! This is 02FD, over and out! See you on the flipside!
RULES RECAP:
Any XG-compatible device in XG mode. Submit a MIDI, and render to MP3. PLG boards are allowed. MU2000 sample voices are allowed, so long as you transmit them over MIDI.
MUSICAL STYLE:
Something 90s. You can look into one of these if you're lost: Trance, house, hip-hop, jungle, or even ska.
