Yeah I agree that this is a bit on the overly bright side sonically, but compositionally you did a really good job of capturing the Shovel Knight vibe. (Not sure if that was intentional but I assume so based on the title)

i didn't listen to the previous version but i still feel like the high frequencies are especially sharp and like.. resonant? i can't make the comparison but i'd say it's quite noticeable, not really a huge detractor from the song though. i guess you could say it's "a vibe"

the song itself is great, very vgm chiptune idiomatic writing, love the big vibratos. no notes, great songwriting.

Nice epic sounding tune, though I also agree the mixing sounds a bit rough - too much on the treble side? A bit too much compression? (I don't actually know, just spitballing whatever n00b mixing knowledge I have)
