Three Gnomic Heroes

A cover of Bravoman's "3 Gnome Carolers". A SNES-styled remix using samples from Dragon Quest VI.

Original song: https://battleofthebits.com/arena/Entry/The+3+Gnome+Carolers/72920/

The first half is a straightforward arrangement of the song's intro, but the second half varies greatly, so I'll try to explain it as best as possible so as to not make it seem like a completely original part. Instead of being an upbeat D Major tune with a chill beat, I went with a dramatic D minor battle march. The beats emphasized in the bass and the chord stabs match when they say "Christmas" in the original, and the trumpet/string melodies, while not exact, match the direction of the melody in the original song. So, it might not be immediately clear, but if you listen close you might be able to hear how it's based on the original.

Siiick how this goes into the battle theme but totally flows from the original. Nice.

this is really nice! personally, i do think the beginning could use a little more dynamic variation -- it's easy to get bogged down in the longer phrases, though the voicing is overall super nice. the battle theme does emerge naturally from the A section, so well done on that! great job holding onto motifs.
