Why apng? gif seems to be the reference format for pixel animation, and I'm not sure apng is supported on all the browsers, but I'm interested in knowing why you prefer it :)

Galak, it's the format that should have superseded GIF ages ago imo. Its palette isn't restricted to indexed 8-bit color, and it has a proper alpha channel, so you can make your images blend perfectly with the background. Also the compression is a bit better than GIF's.

And it was a libre format from the very beginning, since it's just an extension to regular PNG format developed @ Mozilla, around 2004.
It will work with virtually every FF fork, but many other programs support it these days. And if not, they will still fall back to displaying just the first frame of it, in worst case scenario.

Damn, this jump has a nice dynamics!
Also i think the animation lacks a couple of frames when the sword touches the ground, i mean the end of this jump is kinda abrupt.

You can also animate the sky and the sea so it will be really awesome!

Baron Knoxburry, I thought the whole GIF would be the cover, isn't it? But if I were to chose one frame, it would be from the ones where you see the compo title, maybe with more transparency to let you see the background, or something like that.

I will try to do my best, and I used to have more frames for the jump, but it's very tricky because it looked like he was sort of "smoothly" touching the ground, but I'll try to add one frame more.

Yes, the whole GIF is the cover, but only on platforms that support animated album covers which is none afaik. It will remain animated on Battle of the Bits, but other places like bandcamp and even the youtube results stream title card do not support this. It would be a shame to use the frames with the title of the battle since the background obfuscates all your beautiful scenery. A suggestion comes to mind: maybe add one frame to the beginning where the dude starts to stand again with both the title and the background visible? Just an idea. I know there's limited time left.

Also, I feel teased by the cape being animated only in the beginning.
