***LOW BITRATE FOR FILE SIZE; LISTEN TO THE HIGH QUALITY VERSION HERE: https://soundcloud.com/dorian-grayscale/the-new-ol-town-square-bell

This song was improvised live using a DMG (played with a PS/2 keyboard) and a PO-12 running through a pair of delay pedals, a Super Ego, and a Ditto x2 loop pedal. Some EQ and reverb were added after the fact.

Can I have a high quality mp3 for synclisten stream reasons please? You can just do it by enabling download in your soundcloud upload.

it's there. more > download

@song: not sure how i feel about the constant high pitches. there are some neat things going on in the background but the high notes are v distracting from that

Neat improvisation and decent droning atmosphere. Not a whole lot to go on for judging purposes, but its a fun sound experiment! It seems like this sort of thing would work best as an avant garde performance piece for a live setting... something is kind of lost without the live atmosphere.

Thank you all for giving it a listen; I realize it is a bit of an undertaking. Shinichi, I agree- on certain speakers the "bell" can be a touch overpowering. Were I a smarter man, I may have mixed it better. I have a few other songs I recorded with the same process and a friend who says he'll master them for me, so maybe I can get him to help me with that. th4 D34D- that's my goal with this stuff- I would love to play it out live. Also, to speak to your comment about a lack of judgeable material, I would like to formally apologize to you and the world as a whole for not putting more dingleburg into this. -DG

The low bit rate fixes the bell. It's my personal opinion that fixes like that usually sound better than filters and EQ. Maybe it's just because it sounds fresh to my ears.
